David Toohey

David has been on the board of charities and an interest in supporting the community and increasing inclusiveness for nearly 25 years. He also has some 9 years experience as a surf life saver on Australia’s Sunshine Coast. David comes from a broad business background and currently provides consultancy services in the area of financial and operational management. Now he also has a young family, a son nearing 2 and a daughter on the way.

Daniel Maloney

Daniel Maloney is a CEO and managing director with thirty-five years experience in the infrastructure and resource industries. He co-founded and ran a successful Global Engineering company as Co-CEO & managing director of Calder Maloney, based in Brisbane.

Previously, Daniel had started-up a Business Unit of a Major Global Engineering company, SNC Lavalin with $6b worth of work that grew to a steady 500 FTE.

More Recently, Daniel has branched out into the start-up space and has been a C-executive in the fields as Property Management, Social Enterprises, LED Lighting, and Security Systems utilising todays latest technologies.

Henry is a leader, company director and engaged stakeholder within the Manufacturing industry. His business acumen is demonstrated through company growth, strategic execution and commercially focused solutions. 

He is keenly focused on giving back, and sits on a number of Non-for-profit boards. His favourite past-time is getting into the outdoors, whether for paddling, hiking or camping.

Liesl is an experienced and enthusiastic Partnerships and Community Engagement Manager. She is highly skilled in community and relationship building in the entrepreneurship and innovation space. Liesl is a staunch advocate for women and the issues that affect them. She has a demonstrated passion for empowering women through the development of entrepreneurial skills and mindset.

With extensive experience in Event Management, Media Production and Written Expression, Liesl believes in the power of storytelling and shared stories to create opportunities for connection, collaboration, learning and problem solving.

Brittany is a registered Social Worker who has years of experience working within the not-for-profit disability sector. Brittany is passionate about ensuring all people in society have equal rights and access to the world around them.

Throughout her career, Brittany has designed and implemented self-advocacy meetings to assist people with disability to increase their skills in speaking up for themselves. Brittany enjoys participating in outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, snowboarding and more.

Thomas Mckenna

Thomas J. McKenna is an experienced educator currently in a leadership role for the Queensland Department of Education. Thomas has worked across all year levels/sectors and has been heavily involved in outdoor education programs. Thomas has witnessed firsthand the impact inclusive outdoor activities can have on people which is what motivates him when working on his PhD.

Thomas also has degrees in Education, Environmental Science and Educational Leadership. When Thomas is not advocating for inclusion he is spending time with his family doing outdoor activities like cycling, camping, hiking, and swimming.

Shona Cox

Shona Cox began her communications career as an award-winning independent writer / director/ producer, and her roots remain firmly planted in film, theatre and the arts. Shona has penned a novel, worked globally and completed a Master’s Degree in Organisational Communication. Shona was instrumental in the pioneering of online content streaming from The Embassy of Australia in Washington DC in the aftermath of 911. Whilst at News Corp, Shona provisioned content from multiple large-scale events such as the London Olympics and the Delhi Commonwealth Games. Shona’s work has been recognised at the Brisbane International Film Festival, the Career Trackers Internship program, the Walkley Awards, the Exposure Film Festival, and the Queensland Media Awards. An architect of the digital communications landscape, Shona is currently responsible for servicing partners in the Emergency Services portfolio: the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service, Queensland Police Service, and Inspector General Emergency Management.

Shona is a keen outdoorswoman with a passion for golf, tennis, soccer and long walks with her cocker spaniel, Lola.

Mathew founded Nature Freedom in May 2017. When Nature Freedom was founded, his story has spread out in the communities. He found out that he is not alone in creating and maintaining passions in finding employment in environmental field. Mathew’s story became a community story where others finding same challenges and journeys.

Experienced in Social Media Marketing, Communications and Event Management. She is entrepreneurial, creative and inclusive and passionate about sustainability, equality and international relations.

Trinity is a research graduate from Masters of Philosophy in Marketing and Advertising at the Queensland University of Technology. She has finished a research thesis in sustainable marketing, and she is experienced in quantitative data analysis and digital marketing. She is bubbly, easy-going and well aware of environmental sustainability and mental health issues.

Yvette is a second year student studying the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honour) at the University of Queensland. She is experienced in interviewing people across different ages and helping people to be more independent. Yvette is a friendly and gentle girl who has strong emphasises on people with disability and mental health issues. Yvette is passionate about contributing to the creation of an inclusive world. She is interested in calligraphy, photography, playing basketballs and making a cup of tea.
