Special Events & Projects

As a social enterprise Nature Freedom participates in special community events and works to create and develop unique projects where individuals from all backgrounds can come together, develop skills relating to the environment and sustainability and increase their knowledge of what it really means to be inclusive.

We want to open the gates and invite everybody to come ‘walk with us’. Join our special events and projects and attend our events so we can learn from each other and create truly inclusive communities.

PROJECTS

Clean & Green Warriors – Brisbane, Redlands & Logan

Clean & Green Warriors is a new program that will enable individuals from all walks of life especially young people living with disabilities and mental health to build their experience and engagement in litter prevention and environmental protection activities.

This program will focus on improving social inclusion of volunteers as part of the environmental community to learn about the beauty of natural environments while practically supporting their local environment. The working bee days with social engagement opportunities involve cleaning up the parks, bushlands and alongside the water (creeks, etc) across the Greater Brisbane Region.

Engagement meets opportunity. Volunteers will build their confidence in cleaning up the litter while making positive socio-environmental relationships as a benefit from the program. The ‘Warriors’ are emerging leaders to take initiative in keeping our natural environment free of litter.
